The Dark Legacy of Margaret Sanger, Eugenics and Modern Parallels

Question: What does Hitler, Margaret Sanger and modern day ideologies all have in common?

Throughout history, ideas cloaked in progress and compassion have often concealed darker agendas. One clear example is Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, while widely recognized for advocating birth control, her work was deeply rooted in eugenics—a pseudoscience claiming that humanity could be “improved” by controlling who reproduces. This ideology targeted the poor, minorities, and the disabled and was a precursor to policies that influenced Adolf Hitler’s Nazi regime. Sanger was the face of the eugenics movement in the United States.

Disturbingly, these ideologies are resurfacing today under the guise of compassionate policies aimed at solving global problems like poverty and climate change. Bills currently being passed in parts of Europe, for example, advocate for euthanasia and abortion as solutions to societal issues. These practices echo the destructive ideas of eugenics and serve as a chilling reminder of history repeating itself.

This article unpacks Margaret Sanger’s troubling beliefs, her connections to eugenics, the parallels between her ideologies and Adolf Hitler’s policies, and how these concepts persist in modern society. It also examines these issues from a spiritual perspective, revealing the deception and destruction that underpins them.

Who Was Margaret Sanger and What Did She Believe?

Margaret Sanger was an American born in the 1800’s who is celebrated as a pioneer for women’s rights and reproductive health. However, a closer look reveals that her advocacy for birth control was deeply intertwined with harmful, dark and oppressive ideologies. Recently Planned Parenthood has tried to distance itself from Sanger’s eugenics ties, with many branches removing her name from clinics in order to try and erase historical facts of Planned Parenthood’s disturbing origins.

1. Eugenics: The Idea of “Weeding Out” Society

  • Margaret Sanger believed that society could be “improved” by preventing certain groups from reproducing. This idea, rooted in eugenics, targeted those she deemed “unfit,” such as individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or extreme poverty.
  • She infamously referred to such individuals as “human weeds” in her book The Pivot of Civilization (1922). This dehumanizing language revealed her belief that some lives were less valuable than others.
  • Her push for birth control wasn’t just about family planning; it was about controlling who had the right to have children, and how many, she once callously quoted, “one of the most merciful thing that a large family does to one of it’s infant members is to kill it.”

2. Targeting Minorities and the Poor

  • Sanger spearheaded initiatives like the “Negro Project” in 1939, which promoted birth control among African American communities. While some viewed this as an effort to address poverty, critics argue it was a covert attempt to control black and other minority populations. Sanger was quoted, “The most successful educational approach to the negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the negro population, and the (Church) Minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”
  • Sanger and her colleagues framed these efforts as “help,” but they were rooted in the same racist ideologies that underpin eugenics.

3. Connections to Racist Groups

  • Sanger’s support for eugenics has led to allegations of racism, particularly given her associations with eugenicists who promoted sterilization and birth control to curb the reproduction of marginalized groups. In writings and speeches, Sanger expressed views that are classist and ableist, and she once addressed a women’s group associated with the Ku Klux Klan in an effort to promote birth control. While she later criticized their ignorance, her willingness to engage with such groups demonstrates how far she would go to promote her agenda, even if it meant making morally dubious alliances.

Adolf Hitler, Eugenics, and Parallels with Margaret Sanger

The ideology of eugenics didn’t stop with Margaret Sanger, it extended beyond her work and had a significant global impact, influencing Adolf Hitler and the policies of the Nazi regime. Hitler’s early gas chamber experiments on the institutionalised disabled and mentally ill German and Austrian citizens, called ‘the Aktion T4 program’ foreshadowed the broader atrocities of the Holocaust, illustrating the dangers of dehumanizing policies. Critics of modern global health initiatives express concern that contemporary policies aimed at public health or climate change could follow a similar trajectory, evolving into coercive population control measures.

How Hitler Used Eugenics

  • Hitler’s policies on sterilization, euthanasia, and genocide were directly inspired by eugenics principles. He sought to create a “master race” by eliminating groups he deemed inferior, such as Jews, Romani people, and the disabled.
  • The Nazis’ forced sterilization programs were modeled after similar laws in the United States, which Sanger supported.

Did Hitler Admire Sanger?

Although cited, there is no direct evidence that Adolf Hitler personally admired Margaret Sanger, even though they shared the same ideologies and rooted for similar goals. There are significant connections between the eugenics movements in the U.S. and Europe, which influenced the policies of Nazi Germany.

Nazi Eugenics Influenced by American Policies

Historians agree that Nazi eugenics policies, including forced sterilizations and euthanasia programs, were strongly influenced by American eugenics laws. Key figures in the U.S. eugenics movement, such as Charles Davenport and Harry Laughlin, were cited in Nazi propaganda. This influence contributed to the Holocaust, where millions were murdered under the guise of racial purity. The Nazi regime cited American eugenics programs as justification for their policies, including forced sterilizations and the implementation of genocidal measures. Both Sanger and Nazi officials used pseudoscientific rhetoric to justify their actions, presenting them as efforts to improve the human race, despite the harmful and oppressive consequences. This ideological connection was also referenced during the Nuremberg Trials, where the links between U.S. eugenics programs and Nazi practices were acknowledged.

The Link to Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood

Margaret Sanger was an active member of the American eugenics movement, advocating for birth control and sterilization to “improve” society. As noted in research (e.g., Margaret Sanger and the Nazis: How Many Degrees of Separation), the eugenics movement in the U.S. strongly influenced Nazi eugenics. This association ties Sanger’s work and Planned Parenthood to the horrors of Nazism, as both shared a belief in controlling reproduction to shape a “better” society, often through coercive and oppressive means.

Sanger also embraced Darwinism, particularly its emphasis on survival of the fittest. She believed that applying Darwinian principles to human society could improve the gene pool and eliminate those deemed “unfit.” This belief further aligns her views with the ideas of Nazi eugenics, which sought to rid society of “undesirable” individuals.

Rebranding Eugenics

After World War II, the term “eugenics” fell out of favor due to its association with Nazi atrocities. However, the principles of eugenics were rebranded as “family planning,” a term still used today. Planned Parenthood’s early mission reflects this ideological shift.

Modern Policies: The Return of Eugenics?

Eugenics never truly disappeared—it has simply evolved. Many modern policies echo these harmful ideas while being marketed as compassionate or progressive solutions.

1. Abortion and Minority Communities

  • Planned Parenthood continues to disproportionately serve minority neighborhoods. While supporters argue this improves healthcare access, critics point to Sanger’s eugenics legacy, suggesting these clinics target the same groups she sought to suppress.
  • Abortion rates among African American and Hispanic communities are significantly higher than among white populations, raising concerns about systemic targeting.

2. Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide

  • In Europe and parts of Canada, euthanasia laws have expanded to include individuals with disabilities and mental illnesses. These policies, marketed as compassionate “choices,” echo the eugenics-era belief in eliminating those deemed burdensome to society.
  • These laws disproportionately impact vulnerable groups, raising ethical concerns about coercion and societal devaluation of life.

3. Global Population Control

  • Organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and World Economic Forum (WEF) advocate for population control in developing countries, often tying these programs to climate change initiatives.
  • In some cases, nations have reported being pressured to implement sterilization programs or abortion policies in exchange for foreign aid—echoing the coercive tactics of eugenics campaigns.

4. Genetic Screening and Selective Abortion

  • Advances in prenatal testing allow parents to screen for disabilities like Down syndrome. In countries such as Iceland, nearly all pregnancies with a Down syndrome diagnosis end in abortion. Critics argue this amounts to modern eugenics, targeting those deemed less “perfect.”

The Spiritual and Ethical Perspective

For many of us, the debate over abortion and related policies feels like part of a larger spiritual battle. Citing passages like Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,” it becomes clear that these issues reflect a deeper struggle between good and evil.

From this perspective, policies that promote abortion or population control are seen as opposing the sanctity of life. These actions are viewed as contrary to divine principles, as they undermine God’s plan for humanity. In this way, the modern debate is not just a political issue, but a spiritual one, where we are called to stay vigilant and resist the moral decay in society.

Playing God: A Sinful Rebellion Against the Creator

At the core of eugenics and similar ideologies is the desire to play God with human lives—determining who is worthy to live and who is not. This inflated sense of power and nefarious manipulation reflects the nature of their father, the devil, who “was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him” (John 8:44).

A Spiritual Battle: Why This is Satanic

From a biblical perspective, the dehumanization and destruction central to eugenics reflect satanic influence. The Bible teaches that every person is made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) and has inherent value.

  1. Deception: Satan often disguises evil as good, twisting compassion into harm. Eugenics was presented as “scientific progress,” while modern policies like euthanasia and abortion are framed as acts of kindness.
  2. Dehumanization: By labeling people as “weeds” or “unfit,” eugenics denies the God-given dignity of every individual. This devaluation of life is a direct rebellion against God’s creation.
  3. Mass Destruction: The ultimate goal of eugenics—whether through sterilization, abortion, or euthanasia—is the destruction of life. This reflects Satan’s role as a murderer and deceiver (John 8:44).
  4. Spiritual Warfare: Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not merely against human systems but against “spiritual forces of evil.” Recognizing these influences helps us stand firm against them.

Recognizing and Resisting Evil

Margaret Sanger’s advocacy for birth control was rooted in eugenics, targeting minorities, the poor, and the disabled. Her ideas influenced Nazi policies and continue to echo in modern practices like abortion, euthanasia, and population control.

As Christians and as a society, we must remain vigilant against these deceptions. Upholding the sanctity of life and recognizing the inherent worth of every individual is essential to combating these ideologies. We are all made in the image of God, and He did not make a mistake when He knitted us together in our mothers’ wombs. All our days are numbered, and we are deeply loved by God. The enemy’s efforts to continuously mar the ‘image’ of God reflect his desire to destroy and distort the inherent dignity of each person. We must resist these lies, stand firm in the truth, and honor the sanctity of every life.

Defund Planned Parenthood:

Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, performs over 1,000 abortions every day—approximately one every 80 seconds. In the 2022-2023 fiscal year alone, the organization received $699 million in taxpayer funding. Over the years, this has amounted to billions of dollars supporting practices that many Americans oppose.

Live Action, a leader in the pro-life movement, is pioneering the effort to end this taxpayer funding. Sign the petition today to join the fight and demand that the government stops funding Planned Parenthood.

A Modern-Day Stephen: Why Charlie Kirk’s Death Must Wake Us Up

In the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I cannot stay silent. He stood for righteousness, confronted lies, and reminded me of Stephen in the book of Acts — bold, unflinching, refuting nonsense with truth. And just like then, the world couldn’t stand to hear it. So, they killed him.

“Have I then become your enemy by telling you the truth?” — Galatians 4:16

The Pattern of Hatred

Stephen spoke with wisdom and spirit that his enemies could not refute. They plugged their ears, gnashed their teeth, and raged against the truth until they stoned him. Charlie faced the same spirit — a generation that hates the light, calls good evil and evil good, and literally shoots down anyone who dares to dissent, celebrating and rejoicing at his death.

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.” — Isaiah 5:20

We are watching the same story unfold. Then it was Stephen. Now it is Charlie. The names change, but the hatred for truth remains the same.

The Death of “Tolerance”

We are told to value “inclusion.” Yet the same voices that preach tolerance exclude anyone who refuses to bow. Disagreement is no longer allowed; only silence or surrender. “Let’s agree to disagree” has been replaced by “submit or be destroyed.”

As one supporter put it: “Charlie Kirk did not spread hate speech. He spread speech the left hated.”

And as George R.R. Martin warned: “When you tear out a man’s tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you’re only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”

What once was free debate is now suppression. What once was respect for dissent is now cancellation and violence. We have abandoned even Voltaire’s simple creed:

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Charlie refused to bow. He refused to surrender. He stood. And they could not endure it.

The Real Danger: Our Silence

His death woke me up out of my slumber, I pray it has awoken you too. And I will not go back. Because the greatest danger isn’t their hatred — it’s our silence. For too long we have remained silent when we could have spoken truth in love. Christian witness is not loud anger but faithful proclamation, even when it draws opposition.

Martyrdom is a megaphone. Stephen’s death shook Jerusalem. Charlie’s death must shake us. This is not the time to retreat.

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.” — Matthew 10:28

The Rallying Cry

We will not shrink from speaking the truth in love. We will not be silenced, for our mission is to proclaim God’s Word, even when it is unpopular. We were born to stand in faith, to proclaim truth patiently and lovingly, trusting God with the results.

“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit.” — Stephen, Acts 7:51

A Word of Comfort

To those who knew Charlie, who mourn his loss, and to those who are curious why he stood so boldly: hear this truth. Death is not the end for those who believe in Christ. The moment Charlie’s body fell, his spirit was received into the arms of Jesus.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord — for those who trust in Him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8

Stephen, as he was stoned, looked up and saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God, ready to receive him. And I believe the same Lord stood to welcome Charlie home. Like Stephen, who prayed for those who stoned him (‘Lord, do not hold this sin against them’ — Acts 7:60), we are called to hold truth and grace together — to speak boldly but forgive freely. May we also be reminded to number our days, trusting the Lord to decide the span of our lives, and to live faithfully in the time He gives us.

For those who grieve, may you be strengthened and given grace. May Jesus draw near to your broken hearts, comforting you in your loss.

Though he will be deeply missed, let us hold fast to the hope we have in Christ — the hope of resurrection, the hope of eternal life, and the hope that one day every tear will be wiped away. His race is finished, his crown of life secured, his rest eternal.

But his story is not over. Because every martyr points us to the cross — where Jesus Himself conquered death. And through that victory, all who repent and believe in Him will share in the same hope: everlasting life.

Born for Such a Time as This

Charlie Kirk — a modern-day Stephen — has joined the cloud of witnesses who stood unashamed for truth. His blood is not wasted. His voice is not silenced.

“The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.” — Tertullian

Like Stephen’s martyrdom sparked Saul’s conversion and propelled the gospel outward, so too will Charlie’s stand spark awakening.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight… and run with endurance the race that is set before us.” — Hebrews 12:1

If they thought ending Charlie’s life would silence the truth, they are mistaken. His witness lives on in those who speak faithfully and lovingly for Christ. Like Stephen’s death, his example inspires boldness and truth to spread like fire. His voice continues through us as we proclaim God’s Word with courage and love.

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance… will arise from another place. But who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14

We were born for such a time as this. Not to shrink back. Not to compromise truth. Not to hide our faith. We were born to stand in faith, to proclaim God’s Word with courage and love, and to trust Him with the results.

The Gospel Charlie Believed and Preached

Charlie would not want this moment to end without the message that defined his life: Jesus Christ. His boldness did not come from politics, or from himself — it came from the Word of God and the person of Jesus Christ.

Here is that message:

We are all sinners, separated from God by our rebellion and pride. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

Sin earns death — not only physical death, but eternal separation from God. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23

God, in His mercy, sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, to take the penalty we deserved. “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

Jesus did not remain in the grave — He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death once for all. To be saved, you must repent and trust in Him. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9

That is the hope Charlie carried. That is the reason he stood fearless. He knew death was not the end, but the beginning of eternity with Christ.

A Call to Respond

If your heart is stirred, God is calling you today. Salvation comes through repentance — turning away from sin, which is anything we know is wrong or that separates us from God — and trusting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Repentance means honestly acknowledging your sins, asking God to forgive them, and choosing to turn from them with His help. Trusting Jesus means believing that His death on the cross paid for your sins, that He rose again, and that He is alive to guide, strengthen, and transform your life.

You can respond with a simple prayer, such as:

“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I turn from all that I know is wrong and turn to You. I believe You died for me and rose again. I trust You as my Lord and Savior. Take my life, forgive me, and make me Yours forever. Amen.”

When you do this, you are forgiven, welcomed into God’s family, and given the Holy Spirit to guide you every day. Your old life begins to be transformed, and your eternal life with Christ begins.

“Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out.” — Acts 3:19

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” — Romans 10:13

Charlie is with Christ now, and his witness continues through every person who stands for truth and every heart that responds to Jesus. Stand. Believe. Live.

What next?  If you are ready to respond to Jesus’ gift of salvation:

Horoscopes, Astrology And Zodiac Signs

A 2022 poll by YouGov found that 27% of Americans and 37% of adults under 30 believe in astrology. In fact, 31% of those are Catholics and 22% are Protestants. However, this belief has only increased as social media and celebrities have increased its popularity. Many newspapers include daily horoscopes that advise on how to act or what to expect each day. To understand why this growing belief is concerning, we need to see how astrology is different from science.

Astrology vs Astronomy

Astrology often gets confused with astronomy, but the two are very different. Astronomy is a science focused on studying stars, planets, and space; it helps us understand God’s creation. Astrology, however, is not scientific. It’s a belief system that attempts to predict personal events or personality traits by interpreting celestial movements.

Astrology revolves around the “zodiac,” a term from the Greek word “zodiakos,” meaning “circle of animals,” derived from “zoon,” which means animal. This term refers to constellations associated with animals along the zodiac’s path. This “zodiac belt” represented the course through which the sun, moon, and planets appear to move over the year, which would then have an influence on a person’s personality or destiny.

While this belief is growing in cultural popularity and may seem innocent on the surface, we as believers should be on the lookout. To understand why, it’s essential to see the origins of this belief system.

What Does the Bible Say About Astrology?

The Bible clearly warns against astrology. In Isaiah 47:13-14, God rebukes Babylon and its astrologers, telling them that their reliance on the stars will not protect them from judgment. We also see in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 that divination is seen as a detestable act to God. And similarly, we see in 2 Chronicles 33:1-6 that the worship of heavenly bodies is associated with evil.

Unlike astrology, which tries to use the stars for control or prediction of a person’s future or destiny, astronomy, as a science, simply studies the stars and appreciates them as the creation that God made.

Reasons Why People Use Astrology:

  • Curiosity: Curiosity is a natural human trait; however, turning to the stars instead of to God for these answers places our trust in creation, not the Creator.
  • Fun: Astrology is often seen as an innocent act, but if the “prediction” is not from God, it becomes a deceptive tool that can draw people into occult practices.
  • Fascination with the occult: It offers a form of spirituality that doesn’t challenge us with concepts like sin, repentance, or God’s judgment. However, any belief that lacks this is hollow and false.
  • Avoidance of personal responsibility: As Dr. Bob Larson points out, astrology promotes a belief that fate is controlled by the stars rather than by God’s will and our choices. Christianity, in contrast, teaches that our lives are influenced by God’s sovereignty and our actions. Astrology can become a way to avoid accountability, leading many people to not take responsibility for their choices.
  • Power and control: Many turn to astrology to feel a sense of control over their lives. However, while having self-control is positive, true guidance and empowerment come from God, not the stars. Any power that claims to offer control while originating outside of God, will only lead us away from God’s purpose.

3 Reasons Why Horoscopes are Wrong

1. They divert trust from God.

Relying on astrology places trust in creation rather than in the Creator. This act goes against the first commandment which tells us to worship and trust in Him alone. By doing this we are diverting our trust from God.

2. They allow for loss of personal responsibility.

Horoscopes make people believe that their destiny is set out for them in the stars and therefore, they don’t have much say. However, this is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible states that there is a sovereign God, but we also have a role to play in the way our life turns out.

3. Fascination with the occult

Taking part in this can open individuals up to demonic influence because it is an act that is in contradiction to the Bible and can be a distraction from believing and placing your trust in God.

Final Thoughts

If you have dabbled with astrology and horoscopes, I would encourage you to close those doors to the enemy through repentance. Choose to refocus on the Lord through prayer, Scripture, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in regards to questions about your future and your destiny.

The Believer’s Authority in Christ: Freedom from Fear of Witchcraft and Darkness

Introduction

In an age where many are anxious about spiritual darkness, witchcraft, demonic influence, or the evil intentions of others, the Word of God calls every believer in Christ to stand boldly and fearlessly. If you are in Christ Jesus and abide in Him, you have been given spiritual authority over Satan, demons, and even those people who act as vessels for evil. The finished work of Jesus Christ has secured your victory—and fear has no place in the life of a believer who walks in that truth.

1. What Is the Believer’s Authority?

The believer’s authority is the spiritual dominion given by Christ to every person who is born again and abides in Him. This authority is not based on your merit or strength, but on Christ’s triumph over sin, death, and all the powers of the enemy.

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

— Luke 10:19 (NKJV)

Jesus didn’t just save you from sin—He empowered you to walk in victory over Satan and every spiritual force of wickedness.

2. Seated with Christ in Heavenly Places

Your authority comes from your position in Christ. According to the book of Ephesians:

“And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

— Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV)

This means that spiritually, you are seated above every demonic force, above witchcraft, curses, and all agents of darkness. You’re not beneath the enemy—you’re above him, because you are in Christ, who is exalted far above all rule and power (Ephesians 1:20–21).

3. Authority Over Satan and His Human Instruments

Satan doesn’t only use demons—he also influences people whose hearts are hardened and bent on evil. Whether through sorcery, manipulation, curses, or wicked intentions, some individuals willingly yield themselves to the enemy’s control.

“You are full of all deceit and fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness…”

— Acts 13:10 (NASB)

Yet even these people—used as agents of darkness—have no power over you when you are submitted to God and walking in His authority. The schemes and attacks of wicked people cannot override the blood, Word, and Spirit of Christ that covers you.

“There is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel.”

— Numbers 23:23 (ESV)

No curse, spell, or human evil can prosper against a child of God who abides in Christ. You are untouchable by hell’s schemes when you live in righteousness, faith, and obedience.

4. Freedom From Fear

Many believers struggle with fear—fear of witchcraft, curses, or demonic retaliation. But Scripture teaches that fear is a tactic of the enemy, not a tool of God.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

— 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

As long as we remain in Christ, walking in His Word and Spirit, we have nothing to fear. Not witchcraft, not spiritual attacks, not evil men or their plots.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.”

— Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)

God’s protection is not partial or fragile. It is perfect, complete, and rooted in His covenant with you.

5. Exercising Authority Through Submission and Faith

Spiritual authority is exercised—not just acknowledged. Like a soldier must stand his ground and enforce the command of a superior, believers must use their authority actively, not passively.

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

— James 4:7 (NKJV)

The first step is always submission to God—yielding to His Lordship in every area of your life. Then, when you speak, pray, or stand against the enemy, you do so with heaven’s backing. Demons recognize the voice of one who walks in true authority.

6. Abiding in Christ: The Source of Boldness

Jesus said:

“Abide in Me, and I in you… for without Me you can do nothing.”

— John 15:4–5 (NKJV)

Abiding is not an occasional prayer—it’s a lifestyle of dependence, obedience, and intimacy with Jesus. When you abide:

You are filled with spiritual discernment

You are shielded by His presence

You walk in power, not fear

You bear fruit that exposes and destroys the works of darkness

7. Scriptural Examples of Authority in Action

Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4): He resisted Satan with the Word.

Paul rebukes a demonic spirit in a slave girl (Acts 16): He cast it out in Jesus’ name.

Believers confronting evil men (Acts 13): Paul called out Elymas, a sorcerer, and struck him blind.

In every case, God’s authority through a yielded vessel overpowered demonic forces and those who served them.

Conclusion: Stand Boldly, Walk Fearlessly

You are not just saved—you are seated in heavenly places, filled with the Spirit of God, and clothed in the righteousness of Christ. The enemy, his demons, and those who do his bidding have no authority over you. You don’t need to fear witchcraft, wicked men, curses, or demonic plans.

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

— 1 John 4:4 (NKJV)

But remember this: spiritual warfare is not just about resisting—it’s about advancing. And two of your greatest weapons are prayer and praise.

When Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises in the prison, God shook the foundations (Acts 16:25–26). When Jehoshaphat sent worshippers ahead of the army, God set ambushes against their enemies (2 Chronicles 20:21–22). When Elijah prayed, fire came down and exposed the powerlessness of the enemy (1 Kings 18:36–39).

Prayer breaks chains.

Praise shifts the atmosphere.

Both silence the voice of the enemy and bring the presence of God into the battle.

“Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered…”

— Psalm 68:1 (NKJV)

“Out of the mouths of babes and infants, You have ordained strength… to silence the enemy and the avenger.”

— Psalm 8:2 (NKJV)

So pray fervently. Praise boldly. Worship in truth. The enemy cannot stand in an atmosphere saturated with God’s presence. Prayer pierces the darkness, and praise declares that the battle is the Lord’s—and the victory is yours in Christ.

Final Word:

Walk in obedience. Stand on the Word. Abide in Christ. Use the name of Jesus boldly. Pray and praise without ceasing. And never again live in fear. The victory has already been won—your job is to enforce it with faith, joy, and spiritual power.

Nothing New Under the Sun: Jezebel and the New Age Movements

“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.” ~ Colossians 2:8

Wicked women are presented as they truly are in the Bible—without any attempt to sanitize their lives or actions. One such infamous figure is Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab of Israel. She was not a believer in the one true God, and her reign over northern Israel marked the introduction and spread of a false religion—worship of Baal. This religion quickly took hold because Jezebel became a role model for many women of her time. Her religion was rooted in the worship of Baal, or Satan, who is behind all false religions.

To please the queen was politically savvy, so she filled Israel with 850 priests practicing her religion, leading the people further astray. Jezebel’s impact was profound and deeply harmful, as she turned the nation away from the true God.

The Parallels Between Baal Worship and the New Age Movement

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:4

Do you want to know what Jezebel’s religion was like? We are witnessing the rise of a similar, swift, and powerful religion sweeping the planet today—the New Age / Golden Age Movement. This belief system, like the false worship of Baal, denies the existence of a personal God who loves His people. Instead, it promotes an impersonal, universal energy force. In the New Age Movement, God can be referred to in many ways— she or he, mother or father, god or goddess, the Earth, the sun, the stars, or even nature itself can be worshipped as God. New Age teachers claim to receive guidance from so-called “spirit guides,” “ascended masters,” “masters of wisdom” “angels,” and “higher beings,” all of whom make up the hierarchy of this movement. They state that some of their guides are angels.

However, Jezebel’s priests, when confronted by the prophet Elijah, were exposed for their reliance on demonic forces – fallen angels, whilst practicing their false religion. Elijah challenged all 850 of them to prove the power of their gods, demonstrating that their supposed deities were powerless before the one true God. When they failed, the false nature of their religion was revealed, along with their demon guides posing as angels.

The New Age Movement bears striking similarities to Jezebel’s worship of Baal. For example, the New Age movement claims that Jesus Christ was merely a reincarnated messenger—not the Son of God. They assert that Christ was sent by the demon hierarchy of angels to provide “spiritually advanced revelations” to their group. In fact, they teach that Jesus is just one of many “Christs,” alongside figures like Buddha, Mohammed, and Confucius. This system accepts anyone who rejects Jesus Christ as the Son of God—whether they are Shintoists, Satanists, Buddhists, secular humanists, witches, or anyone else who doesn’t acknowledge the truth or accept the Christ, and that He is a personal God. They teach that man is not sinful, nor evil, and that Jesus’s sacrifice on the Cross has no meaning, according to them it was meaningless.

Moreover, the New Age Movement denies the existence of sin, judgment, and the need for salvation. Instead, it teaches that humanity has evolved over thousands of years and that there is no need for a savior. This philosophy is the basis of all false religions; rooted in ancient lies, echoing the deceptions of Satan, who hides the reality of judgment, hell, and sin, and all of his followers do the same, because they have been blinded to the truth. It’s no surprise that Jezebel’s actions—her cheating, lying, and murder—were reflections of her allegiance to Satan, the father of lies. Her conscience was so seared with unbelief in the one true God that she had no fear of judgment, she never expected to meet a righteous and holy God one day, who will judge her for things done in the flesh, her thoughts, her deeds and her motives.

Modern Echoes: The Age of Aquarius

Today, the New Age Movement is spreading rapidly, with some even calling it the “Age of Aquarius.” Many people are drawn to its teachings, including secular humanists, witches, Satanists, and celebrities. One prominent TV and movie star has become a spokesperson for the movement, claiming to receive instructions from an ancient being, that tells her things and guides her. This celebrity, like Jezebel, serves as a role model for many, leading others into deception.

The New Age Movement teaches that being “born again” is simply a personal transformation or healing of the self. It says that you must “let go” and allow your “inner guide” or “higher self” to direct your life, without any belief or need for the Holy Spirit and Him indwelling you. They speak of something called “kundalini,” a Hindu term meaning “serpent power,” which has clear connections to Satan. This mimics spiritual experiences, but it is a counterfeit of true Christian transformational quality of the Holy Spirit.

Satan, as always, has counterfeited the things of Jesus Christ and Christianity. The New Age Movement, much like the false prophets in Jezebel’s time, speaks of a “Christ-like” figure who will come to establish a utopian Kingdom of peace on Earth, that he will reign over the new age, bringing about a one world religion and consolidating all nations into one government. This is eerily similar to the Antichrist, who will deceive many and promise a one-world government and a counterfeit peace—something the Bible warns will happen before the true return of Jesus Christ.

Distinguishing Truth from Deception

In a nutshell, here is what the New Age Movement teaches:

• God is impersonal; He is not loving, He can be a he or she, but not the sovereign, holy, and righteous God of the Bible.

• Jesus is not the Son of God, not the Christ and someone greater than Jesus will come, not realising there will be an anti-Christ connected to Satan, who will try to imitate the Christ, as we have been forewarned in scriptures.

• There is no need for being born again, as they reject the Holy Spirit and encourage people to follow their demon guides.

• And about the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ that the anti-Christ will rule in Earth and Heaven is the Kingdom of God during the Age of Aquarius and that it is not a real place, but merely an Earthly utopia.

• There is no sin, judgment, evil or hell.

As believers in Christ, we know these claims are false. We have the truth from the Bible, which tells us that God is our loving Father, He is not a she or a goddess, but the supreme being. Jesus is His only begotten Son, the express image of the invisible God, and salvation comes through Him alone. The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father and the Son, dwells within us, guiding and empowering us to live according to God’s will. Heaven is a real, physical place where God the Father and God the Son reign in glory, and hell is a real and horrible place for those who reject the truth of the gospel. Through the Holy Spirit, we are assured of our salvation and strengthened in our faith as we await eternal life with God. He tells us that angels are messengers of God and named in scripture and He tells us to be born again, by the spirit of God by receiving Jesus as our personal Saviour.

A Call to Stand Firm in the Truth

Throughout history, God has warned His people about false religions. From Jezebel’s priests to the builders of the Tower of Babel, we have seen it through the ages. These instances of idolatry and rebellion against God serve as lessons for us today. Even in Noah’s time, when wickedness was rampant, God had to destroy the world with a flood. This, too, is a forewarning for us today. Jesus Himself tells us in Matthew 24 that when we see the same kinds of lawlessness and rebellion happening again, it is a sign that His return is near.

In Matthew 24:29-30, Jesus speaks of the signs preceding His second coming: “Immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven.”

We know that in the end times, false prophets will rise up to deceive even the elect (Matthew 24:24). Deception has led to destruction throughout the ages, and it will culminate in the final days before Jesus’ return. This New Age Movement, like its predecessors, may fade into the background only to be replaced by another. Yet, there is the real possibility that this movement could lead to the rise of the Antichrist, who will deceive many with promises of peace and a one-world government. Scripture warns us that the Antichrist will set up his rule on Earth, even establishing himself in Jerusalem and claiming to be the Christ (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). However, we who know the Bible recognize this for the lie that it is.

Jesus warned: “If anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it” (Matthew 24:26). His true return will not be secret or localized. We are told in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 that He will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. The dead in Christ will rise first, and those who are still alive will be caught up to meet Him in the air. This event, known as the rapture, will take place in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:52).

Jesus will gather His elect and take them to be with Him for seven years, during which time the Great Tribulation will unfold on Earth. After this period, He will return with His saints to establish His Kingdom on Earth and reign for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6). Unlike the false peace promised by the New Age Movement, this will be the true and lasting reign of the Prince of Peace.

We are warned in Scripture that the Antichrist will bring about a false peace and deceive many. Jesus Himself cautioned us against following these lies. We are also reminded of the lessons of history—Jezebel and her false prophets led Israel into idolatry, and the builders of the Tower of Babel sought to defy God’s sovereignty. These stories serve as warnings for us today. Wide is the gate that leads to destruction, but narrow is the gate that leads to life (Matthew 7:13-14).

As believers, we look forward to the Lord’s return. By God’s grace, we will not be caught up in the ecumenical movement or New Age ideologies that attempt to unify all religions and philosophies into one deceptive system. This “Age of Aquarius” promises enlightenment and unity but leads people to follow the Antichrist instead of Christ. The Bible is clear: there can be no lasting peace on Earth until Jesus Himself returns to set up His Kingdom.

We must stand firm in the truth, remembering Jesus’ words and promises. Let us choose the narrow path that leads to life. Choose wisely—choose Christ!

Conclusion: Lessons from Jezebel and the Bible

God’s sovereignty remains unshaken; He knows the beginning from the end. The warnings drawn from Jezebel’s life and scripture provide us with timeless clarity. As Ecclesiastes 1:9 reminds us, “There is nothing new under the sun.” Satan’s methods of deception have not changed, and false religions like the New Age / Golden Age Movement are modern manifestations of these ancient lies. These deceptions, cloaked in promises of enlightenment, peace, and unity, echo the spiritual rebellion seen in Jezebel’s time, the Tower of Babel, and countless other moments in history.

Even those movements that claim to acknowledge Christ often compromise truth, embracing all religions in the name of an ecumenical ‘unity and peace.’ This push toward a one-world religion is yet another ploy by Satan, setting the stage for the rise of the Antichrist, who will seek to establish his rule over a one-world government. Scripture warns us of this, and as believers, we are called to be vigilant.

Our anchor is the Word of God. We must remain grounded, discerning, and uncompromising in our faith. The false promises of movements like the New Age and the allure of unity at the expense of truth must be rejected. Instead, we fix our eyes on Christ, awaiting His glorious return when He will establish His eternal Kingdom—a Kingdom of true peace and righteousness.

Let us hold fast to God’s promises, stand firm in His truth, and keep our hearts prepared for the day when the Prince of Peace will reign forever.
