When you start experiencing strange reactions at work—or anywhere—such as jealousy, unnecessary opposition, gossip, or being treated like a threat, it’s easy to assume something is wrong with you. In reality, it can be a sign of God’s hand on your life.

This is a familiar spiritual pattern—one seen in the lives of David, Joseph, and ultimately Jesus. People aren’t reacting to your mistakes; they’re responding to your light, your anointing, and the confidence you carry.

Confidence Attracts Criticism

When you walk in your purpose with faith and inner strength, your presence can expose the insecurities of others. Their reactions are rarely about you—they’re about what your light reveals in them.

Carrying God’s Holy Spirit gives confidence a deeper meaning. It’s no longer pride, but spiritual purpose. That kind of assurance can feel threatening to those still wrestling with darkness. You were never meant to dim your light to make others comfortable. When you carry the Light of God, it naturally pierces the darkness—and that disruption often stirs resistance.

True confidence isn’t loud or boastful. It’s steady, grounded, and rooted in knowing who you are, whose you are, and what you carry within. For some, that confidence is inspiring. For others, it exposes what they’ve tried to hide—and that’s when certain behaviors begin to surface.

Biblical Examples

David: Attacked for His Anointing, Not His Actions

David did nothing to Saul.

He honored him. He served him. He played music for him. He killed Goliath for Israel.

And still—Saul hated him. Why? Because Saul felt threatened by David’s favor, confidence, and God-given anointing.

“Saul was afraid of David because the LORD was with David.” — 1 Samuel 18:12

Your coworkers aren’t necessarily threatened by your words or actions. Your presence bothers them. Your confidence exposes their insecurity. Your light irritates their darkness. Just like David.

Joseph: Hated for His Dreams

Joseph’s brothers didn’t hate him because he did something wrong. They hated him because of what God placed in him:

His dreams His favor His calling His confidence His future greatness

Those things stirred jealousy and insecurity in others.

“They hated him even more because of his dream and his words.” — Genesis 37:8

Sometimes people react not to who you are right now, but to who you’re becoming. They can sense potential. They can feel elevation coming. Your destiny bothers their demons.

Jesus: Rejected for His Light

If the perfect Son of God was criticized, attacked, mocked, misunderstood, and plotted against, we can expect to experience the same.

Jesus didn’t dim His light to make others comfortable. He didn’t shrink to ease their insecurity. He walked fully in His calling—even when the religious leaders were irritated by His authority, confidence, and truth.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

Your confidence and spiritual glow are not arrogance—they are evidence of what you carry. And darkness always reacts to light.

The Truth About What You’re Experiencing

Your confidence threatens their insecurity. Your favor threatens their ego. Your light disturbs their shadows. Your potential makes them uneasy. Your spirit irritates whatever is unhealed or unclean in them.

It’s not personal—it’s spiritual. You’re not the problem. You’re the proof that God’s presence is with you.

The Spiritual Reality Behind What You’re Experiencing

This is where the situation shifts from psychological to spiritual.

Your light disturbs what is dark.

Your peace agitates hidden demons.

Your obedience exposes compromise.

Your refusal to conform becomes a reminder of God’s truth.

You are not being opposed because you are wrong — you are being opposed because you are aligned. Your life reflects truth others chose not to obey. When someone lives in partial obedience or outright rebellion, your faithfulness becomes conviction without words.

You don’t have to preach for this to happen. Your presence alone carries it.

Why Your Light Triggers Strong Reactions

Light does more than illuminate — it reveals.

And revelation is uncomfortable for those who have chosen darkness, denial, or compromise.

Your confidence confronts insecurity.

Your integrity exposes dishonesty.

Your obedience highlights rebellion.

This is why the reaction often feels disproportionate. It isn’t about the moment — it’s about the mirror your life holds up.

Common Reactions When Light Disturbs Darkness

– Attempts to Undermine or “Humble” You

When demons are disturbed, resistance often shows up as subtle criticism, dismissiveness, gossip, or passive attempts to shrink you. This isn’t correction — it’s discomfort with authority and conviction.

– Mislabeling Conviction as Arrogance

There is a difference between arrogance and grounded confidence. But those unwilling to submit to God’s truth often call obedience pride. What they resent isn’t your tone — it’s your refusal to compromise.

– Emotional Withdrawal or Avoidance

Some people pull away because your obedience reminds them of truth they ignored. Your peace exposes their unrest; your consistency highlights their inconsistency.

– Passive-Aggressive Criticism or Judgment

When conviction becomes too uncomfortable, it often turns into criticism. What they refuse to confront internally, they project externally.

– Competition, Comparison, or Resentment

Your favor, clarity, or progress may provoke rivalry or envy. Not because you invited it — but because your light challenges their comfort with stagnation.

It looks like humility without insecurity.

People with controlling or narcissistic tendencies often react most strongly to those who carry clarity, peace, confidence, and spiritual authority. These qualities expose insecurity, false identity, and resistance to God’s truth.

This is why the opposition can feel intense.

Demons recognize authority — even when people deny it.

Remember: those most disturbed by your light are often those most convicted by it.

Narcissistic Behavior in the Workplace: Why Your Confidence Triggers It

Narcissistic personalities thrive on control, admiration, dominance, superiority, and keeping others “small.” Their sense of stability depends on feeling above others.

When someone enters a space with confidence, competence, emotional stability, peace, spiritual grounding, and a strong identity, it threatens that fragile structure. Your presence challenges their need for control—and that’s when problems begin.

How Narcissistic Insecurity Shows Up

When threatened, narcissistic or deeply insecure individuals often respond with predictable behaviors: subtle put-downs, gossip, competition, attempts to undermine you, anger when you don’t fold, silent treatment, passive aggression, triangulation (turning others against you), and ultimately reframing you as “the problem.”

This is textbook narcissistic insecurity. Narcissists can sense strength—and they resent it.

The Spiritual Side: Why Light Triggers Them

As stated before, your light irritates their demons.

Narcissistic traits flourish in insecurity, pride, ego, manipulation, fear, and the need for control. God-given light threatens that darkness.

People with narcissistic tendencies are deeply uncomfortable around truth, confidence, emotional maturity, spiritual discernment, kindness, and genuine peace—because those qualities expose what they work hard to hide.

This is why narcissists are triggered by people who walk in identity and favor.

When Your Confidence Increases, Their Mask Slips

Narcissists cannot tolerate someone who is not intimidated, does not seek their approval, does not fold under pressure, and remains calm, grounded, and joyful.

The more confident and steady you become, the more their behavior escalates—because your presence reveals everything they try to conceal.

Biblical Pattern + Psychology: The Same Story

David triggered Saul’s jealousy.

Joseph triggered his brothers’ envy and inferiority.

Jesus triggered the Pharisees’ pride and insecurity.

In every case, the chosen one did nothing wrong. The opposition flowed from insecurity, and the response became manipulative, controlling, or abusive. Yet the chosen one rose anyway.

This pattern appears both in Scripture and in modern psychology.

What You’re Experiencing: The “Narcissistic Infection Effect”

One toxic person can shift an entire atmosphere.

They begin by gossiping subtly—not with direct accusations, but with “concerns,” jokes, or observations. These seeds are absorbed without people realizing they’re being influenced.

They use triangulation, saying things like “Everyone’s noticed…” or “People have been saying…” to turn others against you. They play the victim to gain sympathy, act like the “concerned friend” to mask jealousy, and slowly isolate you by filtering how others see you.

Before long, people grow distant or judgmental—without you doing a single thing wrong.

Why They Chose You as the Target

Narcissistic or deeply insecure people target those who are confident, skilled, liked, spiritually grounded, independent thinkers, not easily manipulated, and not intimidated.

Your presence exposes their insecurity. Their unspoken goal becomes: If I can’t shine, I’ll dim their light.

But here’s the truth: you can only dim someone’s light if they allow it. You haven’t—and that’s why the behavior escalates.

How They Pull Others In

Those around them—especially weaker or more insecure individuals—often become easily influenced. They don’t want to be the next target, so they go along. They’re afraid to speak up, emotionally manipulated into thinking they’re being loyal, and drawn into drama under the belief that you are the problem.

Scripture shows this clearly: one jealous brother infected the others against Joseph. Saul turned Israel against David through fear and lies. The Pharisees manipulated crowds who once loved Jesus.

One insecure person can poison many—until truth surfaces.

The Good News: The Infection Never Lasts

Toxic influence always burns out. Manipulation cannot stand forever. Truth eventually exposes the manipulator, and the one targeted is elevated.

Joseph became a ruler.

David became king.

Jesus rose in glory.

The pattern never changes.

When One Narcissistic Person Infects a Workplace

Psychology recognizes this behavior as triangulation, projection, smear campaigns, group manipulation, and the use of “flying monkeys.”

A narcissist cannot tolerate someone they can’t control, intimidate, or overshadow. So they isolate you indirectly—planting doubt, spreading concern-based gossip, recruiting others through fear, playing the victim, and reframing you as the issue.

Soon, people who once treated you warmly act differently—not because of who you are, but because of what they’ve been fed.

Psychological Reality Meets Spiritual Truth

Narcissists are drawn to people who are confident, don’t seek approval, can’t be controlled, peaceful, purposeful, and spiritually grounded.

Your confidence threatens their façade.

Your peace threatens their chaos.

Your purpose threatens their stagnation.

In other words, your light irritates everything in them that is dark, unhealed, or insecure. This is both psychological truth and spiritual warfare.

The Pattern Repeats—But So Does the Outcome

David was smeared.

Joseph was betrayed.

Jesus was falsely accused.

One insecure person can turn many cold—until truth is revealed.

And when it is, the chosen one rises.

Final Word: Keep Shining

What you’re experiencing is not personal—it is spiritual and psychological.

Confidence exposes insecurity.

Light exposes darkness.

Purpose exposes jealousy.

Favor exposes pride.

Narcissists react to what threatens them, not to who you truly are.

So keep shining. Keep walking in your purpose. Keep carrying the Holy Spirit boldly. Never dim your God-given light to make someone else comfortable in darkness.

Your rise is coming. Nothing—and no one—can stop what God has ordained.

A Seed Sown in Blood: God’s Harvest Will Come

“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” — John 12:24

Praise be to God, His ways are not our ways. We cannot always see the tapestry He is weaving, but we trust His sovereign hand.

Think of a tapestry: from one side, it may look like tangled threads, messy and confusing. That’s life to us — tragedy, loss, unanswered questions. But God sees the other side, the complete design. Every thread, every knot, every act of faith fits perfectly into His eternal plan.

The world may see sacrifice as defeat. God sees it as a seed — planted, watered, and destined to bear fruit. What the enemy means for evil, God turns for good. What the world celebrates as loss, heaven declares as victory.

God Has Done This Before

This pattern is clear throughout Scripture and history. When Stephen was stoned, the enemies of Christ thought they had silenced him. Instead, his death became the spark that spread the gospel throughout Jerusalem and beyond. Even Saul, who approved Stephen’s killing, became Paul the apostle — carrying the message of Jesus Christ to the nations.

In 1956, Jim Elliot and four other missionaries gave their lives in Ecuador, speared by the Huaorani tribe they sought to reach. At first it looked like a tragedy, but it was a seed. Later, many from that tribe turned to Jesus Christ — including some who had taken part in the killings. Jim’s wife, Elisabeth Elliot, returned with forgiveness, and God used their sacrifice to bring an entire people to Himself.

Consider Dietrich Bonhoeffer, executed by the Nazis for standing firm in Jesus in the face of tyranny. His writings and courage still stir hearts worldwide, and his death became a seed of boldness for generations to stand firm in Christ.

Today, the persecuted church continues this pattern. In China, Iran, North Korea, Nigeria, and beyond, believers are imprisoned, beaten, and even killed for faith in Jesus Christ. Yet the gospel grows even in the most difficult circumstances. What seems like weakness or loss is transformed by God into multiplication — because Jesus Christ is Lord of life and death.

And in our own time, the life and witness of Charlie Kirk reminds us that even today, standing for truth and righteousness in a hostile world can plant seeds that God will grow. His life and sacrifice are part of this ongoing tapestry.

Above all, we look to Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate example. The cross looked like the end — the darkest day in history. The world mocked, and the disciples were discouraged. But three days later, the stone was rolled away, and Jesus rose in power. His blood was not spilled in vain — it purchased salvation for all who believe. Every martyr since has simply followed in His steps, pointing to His finished work.

The Harvest Is Coming

Church, let us not shrink back. Let us rise, emboldened. The seed has been planted, and the Spirit of Jesus is moving.

A generation that hardens itself against truth will be pierced to the heart, just as those who heard Peter on Pentecost. Out of this shaking, multitudes will come into the Shepherd’s fold — all to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Charlie’s life and the lives of all martyrs become a call — not of despair, but of awakening. God will answer. Watch and see: there will be a mighty harvest!

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You.” — Psalm 22:27

Encouragement for Everyday Believers

You do not need to be famous or a public figure to participate in God’s plan. Every act of faithfulness, every prayer, every stand for truth in love is a seed. You may not see it grow, but God is at work behind the scenes.

“Every act of obedience, even unseen, contributes to His eternal design.”

Psalm 90:12 reminds us: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” God’s timing is perfect — even when we do not understand it. Ecclesiastes 3:1 assures us: “There is a time for everything…”

Trust the tapestry. Trust the threads you cannot yet see.

A Word of Comfort

To those who grieve, may you be strengthened and given grace. May Jesus draw near to your broken hearts, comforting you in your loss.

Death is not the end for those who believe in Christ. The moment the body falls, the spirit is received into the arms of Jesus.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord — for those who trust in Him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8

May we hold fast to the hope we have in Christ — the hope of resurrection, the hope of eternal life, and the hope that one day every tear will be wiped away. Their race is finished, their crown of life secured, their rest eternal.

Every martyr points us to the cross — where Jesus Himself conquered death. And through that victory, all who repent and believe in Him share in the same hope: everlasting life.

The Gospel

Charlie and all faithful servants would not want this moment to end without the message that defined their lives: Jesus Christ. His boldness did not come from politics or self, but from the Word of God and the person of Jesus Christ.

We are all sinners, separated from God by our rebellion and pride. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

Sin earns death — not only physical death, but eternal separation from God. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23

God, in His mercy, sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, to take the penalty we deserved. “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

Jesus did not remain in the grave — He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death once for all.

To be saved, you must repent and trust in Him. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9

That is the hope every martyr carried. That is why they stood fearless. They knew death was not the end, but the beginning of eternity with Jesus Christ.

A Call to Respond

If your heart is stirred, God is calling you today. Salvation comes through repentance — turning away from sin, which is anything we know is wrong or that separates us from God — and trusting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Repentance means acknowledging your sins, asking God to forgive them, and choosing to turn from them with His help. Trusting Jesus means believing His death on the cross paid for your sins, that He rose again, and that He is alive to guide, strengthen, and transform your life.

You can respond with a simple prayer, such as:

“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I turn from all that I know is wrong and turn to You. I believe You died for me and rose again. I trust You as my Lord and Savior. Take my life, forgive me, and make me Yours forever. Amen.”

When you do this, you are forgiven, welcomed into God’s family, and given the Holy Spirit to guide you every day. Your old life begins to be transformed, and your eternal life with Christ begins.

“Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out.” — Acts 3:19

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” — Romans 10:13

Stand. Believe. Live.

A Modern-Day Stephen: Why Charlie Kirk’s Death Must Wake Us Up

In the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I cannot stay silent. He stood for righteousness, confronted lies, and reminded me of Stephen in the book of Acts — bold, unflinching, refuting nonsense with truth. And just like then, the world couldn’t stand to hear it. So, they killed him.

“Have I then become your enemy by telling you the truth?” — Galatians 4:16

The Pattern of Hatred

Stephen spoke with wisdom and spirit that his enemies could not refute. They plugged their ears, gnashed their teeth, and raged against the truth until they stoned him. Charlie faced the same spirit — a generation that hates the light, calls good evil and evil good, and literally shoots down anyone who dares to dissent, celebrating and rejoicing at his death.

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.” — Isaiah 5:20

We are watching the same story unfold. Then it was Stephen. Now it is Charlie. The names change, but the hatred for truth remains the same.

The Death of “Tolerance”

We are told to value “inclusion.” Yet the same voices that preach tolerance exclude anyone who refuses to bow. Disagreement is no longer allowed; only silence or surrender. “Let’s agree to disagree” has been replaced by “submit or be destroyed.”

As one supporter put it: “Charlie Kirk did not spread hate speech. He spread speech the left hated.”

And as George R.R. Martin warned: “When you tear out a man’s tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you’re only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”

What once was free debate is now suppression. What once was respect for dissent is now cancellation and violence. We have abandoned even Voltaire’s simple creed:

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Charlie refused to bow. He refused to surrender. He stood. And they could not endure it.

The Real Danger: Our Silence

His death woke me up out of my slumber, I pray it has awoken you too. And I will not go back. Because the greatest danger isn’t their hatred — it’s our silence. For too long we have remained silent when we could have spoken truth in love. Christian witness is not loud anger but faithful proclamation, even when it draws opposition.

Martyrdom is a megaphone. Stephen’s death shook Jerusalem. Charlie’s death must shake us. This is not the time to retreat.

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.” — Matthew 10:28

The Rallying Cry

We will not shrink from speaking the truth in love. We will not be silenced, for our mission is to proclaim God’s Word, even when it is unpopular. We were born to stand in faith, to proclaim truth patiently and lovingly, trusting God with the results.

“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit.” — Stephen, Acts 7:51

A Word of Comfort

To those who knew Charlie, who mourn his loss, and to those who are curious why he stood so boldly: hear this truth. Death is not the end for those who believe in Christ. The moment Charlie’s body fell, his spirit was received into the arms of Jesus.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord — for those who trust in Him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8

Stephen, as he was stoned, looked up and saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God, ready to receive him. And I believe the same Lord stood to welcome Charlie home. Like Stephen, who prayed for those who stoned him (‘Lord, do not hold this sin against them’ — Acts 7:60), we are called to hold truth and grace together — to speak boldly but forgive freely. May we also be reminded to number our days, trusting the Lord to decide the span of our lives, and to live faithfully in the time He gives us.

For those who grieve, may you be strengthened and given grace. May Jesus draw near to your broken hearts, comforting you in your loss.

Though he will be deeply missed, let us hold fast to the hope we have in Christ — the hope of resurrection, the hope of eternal life, and the hope that one day every tear will be wiped away. His race is finished, his crown of life secured, his rest eternal.

But his story is not over. Because every martyr points us to the cross — where Jesus Himself conquered death. And through that victory, all who repent and believe in Him will share in the same hope: everlasting life.

Born for Such a Time as This

Charlie Kirk — a modern-day Stephen — has joined the cloud of witnesses who stood unashamed for truth. His blood is not wasted. His voice is not silenced.

“The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.” — Tertullian

Like Stephen’s martyrdom sparked Saul’s conversion and propelled the gospel outward, so too will Charlie’s stand spark awakening.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight… and run with endurance the race that is set before us.” — Hebrews 12:1

If they thought ending Charlie’s life would silence the truth, they are mistaken. His witness lives on in those who speak faithfully and lovingly for Christ. Like Stephen’s death, his example inspires boldness and truth to spread like fire. His voice continues through us as we proclaim God’s Word with courage and love.

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance… will arise from another place. But who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14

We were born for such a time as this. Not to shrink back. Not to compromise truth. Not to hide our faith. We were born to stand in faith, to proclaim God’s Word with courage and love, and to trust Him with the results.

The Gospel Charlie Believed and Preached

Charlie would not want this moment to end without the message that defined his life: Jesus Christ. His boldness did not come from politics, or from himself — it came from the Word of God and the person of Jesus Christ.

Nothing New Under the Sun: Jezebel and the New Age Movements

Wicked women are presented as they truly are in the Bible—without any attempt to sanitize their lives or actions. One such infamous figure is Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab of Israel. She was not a believer in the one true God, and her reign over northern Israel marked the introduction and spread of a false religion—worship of Baal. This religion quickly took hold because Jezebel became a role model for many women of her time. Her religion was rooted in the worship of Baal, or Satan, who is behind all false religions.

To please the queen was politically savvy, so she filled Israel with 850 priests practicing her religion, leading the people further astray. Jezebel’s impact was profound and deeply harmful, as she turned the nation away from the true God.

The Parallels Between Baal Worship and the New Age Movement

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:4

Do you want to know what Jezebel’s religion was like? We are witnessing the rise of a similar, swift, and powerful religion sweeping the planet today—the New Age / Golden Age Movement. This belief system, like the false worship of Baal, denies the existence of a personal God who loves His people. Instead, it promotes an impersonal, universal energy force. In the New Age Movement, God can be referred to in many ways— she or he, mother or father, god or goddess, the Earth, the sun, the stars, or even nature itself can be worshipped as God. New Age teachers claim to receive guidance from so-called “spirit guides,” “ascended masters,” “masters of wisdom” “angels,” and “higher beings,” all of whom make up the hierarchy of this movement. They state that some of their guides are angels.

However, Jezebel’s priests, when confronted by the prophet Elijah, were exposed for their reliance on demonic forces – fallen angels, whilst practicing their false religion. Elijah challenged all 850 of them to prove the power of their gods, demonstrating that their supposed deities were powerless before the one true God. When they failed, the false nature of their religion was revealed, along with their demon guides posing as angels.

The New Age Movement bears striking similarities to Jezebel’s worship of Baal. For example, the New Age movement claims that Jesus Christ was merely a reincarnated messenger—not the Son of God. They assert that Christ was sent by the demon hierarchy of angels to provide “spiritually advanced revelations” to their group. In fact, they teach that Jesus is just one of many “Christs,” alongside figures like Buddha, Mohammed, and Confucius. This system accepts anyone who rejects Jesus Christ as the Son of God—whether they are Shintoists, Satanists, Buddhists, secular humanists, witches, or anyone else who doesn’t acknowledge the truth or accept the Christ, and that He is a personal God. They teach that man is not sinful, nor evil, and that Jesus’s sacrifice on the Cross has no meaning, according to them it was meaningless.

Moreover, the New Age Movement denies the existence of sin, judgment, and the need for salvation. Instead, it teaches that humanity has evolved over thousands of years and that there is no need for a savior. This philosophy is the basis of all false religions; rooted in ancient lies, echoing the deceptions of Satan, who hides the reality of judgment, hell, and sin, and all of his followers do the same, because they have been blinded to the truth. It’s no surprise that Jezebel’s actions—her cheating, lying, and murder—were reflections of her allegiance to Satan, the father of lies. Her conscience was so seared with unbelief in the one true God that she had no fear of judgment, she never expected to meet a righteous and holy God one day, who will judge her for things done in the flesh, her thoughts, her deeds and her motives.

Modern Echoes: The Age of Aquarius

Today, the New Age Movement is spreading rapidly, with some even calling it the “Age of Aquarius.” Many people are drawn to its teachings, including secular humanists, witches, Satanists, and celebrities. One prominent TV and movie star has become a spokesperson for the movement, claiming to receive instructions from an ancient being, that tells her things and guides her. This celebrity, like Jezebel, serves as a role model for many, leading others into deception.

The New Age Movement teaches that being “born again” is simply a personal transformation or healing of the self. It says that you must “let go” and allow your “inner guide” or “higher self” to direct your life, without any belief or need for the Holy Spirit and Him indwelling you. They speak of something called “kundalini,” a Hindu term meaning “serpent power,” which has clear connections to Satan. This mimics spiritual experiences, but it is a counterfeit of true Christian transformational quality of the Holy Spirit.

Satan, as always, has counterfeited the things of Jesus Christ and Christianity. The New Age Movement, much like the false prophets in Jezebel’s time, speaks of a “Christ-like” figure who will come to establish a utopian Kingdom of peace on Earth, that he will reign over the new age, bringing about a one world religion and consolidating all nations into one government. This is eerily similar to the Antichrist, who will deceive many and promise a one-world government and a counterfeit peace—something the Bible warns will happen before the true return of Jesus Christ.

Distinguishing Truth from Deception

In a nutshell, here is what the New Age Movement teaches:

• God is impersonal; He is not loving, He can be a he or she, but not the sovereign, holy, and righteous God of the Bible.

• Jesus is not the Son of God, not the Christ and someone greater than Jesus will come, not realising there will be an anti-Christ connected to Satan, who will try to imitate the Christ, as we have been forewarned in scriptures.

• There is no need for being born again, as they reject the Holy Spirit and encourage people to follow their demon guides.

• And about the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ that the anti-Christ will rule in Earth and Heaven is the Kingdom of God during the Age of Aquarius and that it is not a real place, but merely an Earthly utopia.

• There is no sin, judgment, evil or hell.

As believers in Christ, we know these claims are false. We have the truth from the Bible, which tells us that God is our loving Father, He is not a she or a goddess, but the supreme being. Jesus is His only begotten Son, the express image of the invisible God, and salvation comes through Him alone. The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father and the Son, dwells within us, guiding and empowering us to live according to God’s will. Heaven is a real, physical place where God the Father and God the Son reign in glory, and hell is a real and horrible place for those who reject the truth of the gospel. Through the Holy Spirit, we are assured of our salvation and strengthened in our faith as we await eternal life with God. He tells us that angels are messengers of God and named in scripture and He tells us to be born again, by the spirit of God by receiving Jesus as our personal Saviour.

A Call to Stand Firm in the Truth

Throughout history, God has warned His people about false religions. From Jezebel’s priests to the builders of the Tower of Babel, we have seen it through the ages. These instances of idolatry and rebellion against God serve as lessons for us today. Even in Noah’s time, when wickedness was rampant, God had to destroy the world with a flood. This, too, is a forewarning for us today. Jesus Himself tells us in Matthew 24 that when we see the same kinds of lawlessness and rebellion happening again, it is a sign that His return is near.

In Matthew 24:29-30, Jesus speaks of the signs preceding His second coming: “Immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven.”

We know that in the end times, false prophets will rise up to deceive even the elect (Matthew 24:24). Deception has led to destruction throughout the ages, and it will culminate in the final days before Jesus’ return. This New Age Movement, like its predecessors, may fade into the background only to be replaced by another. Yet, there is the real possibility that this movement could lead to the rise of the Antichrist, who will deceive many with promises of peace and a one-world government. Scripture warns us that the Antichrist will set up his rule on Earth, even establishing himself in Jerusalem and claiming to be the Christ (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). However, we who know the Bible recognize this for the lie that it is.

Jesus warned: “If anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it” (Matthew 24:26). His true return will not be secret or localized. We are told in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 that He will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. The dead in Christ will rise first, and those who are still alive will be caught up to meet Him in the air. This event, known as the rapture, will take place in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:52).

Jesus will gather His elect and take them to be with Him for seven years, during which time the Great Tribulation will unfold on Earth. After this period, He will return with His saints to establish His Kingdom on Earth and reign for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6). Unlike the false peace promised by the New Age Movement, this will be the true and lasting reign of the Prince of Peace.

We are warned in Scripture that the Antichrist will bring about a false peace and deceive many. Jesus Himself cautioned us against following these lies. We are also reminded of the lessons of history—Jezebel and her false prophets led Israel into idolatry, and the builders of the Tower of Babel sought to defy God’s sovereignty. These stories serve as warnings for us today. Wide is the gate that leads to destruction, but narrow is the gate that leads to life (Matthew 7:13-14).

As believers, we look forward to the Lord’s return. By God’s grace, we will not be caught up in the ecumenical movement or New Age ideologies that attempt to unify all religions and philosophies into one deceptive system. This “Age of Aquarius” promises enlightenment and unity but leads people to follow the Antichrist instead of Christ. The Bible is clear: there can be no lasting peace on Earth until Jesus Himself returns to set up His Kingdom.

We must stand firm in the truth, remembering Jesus’ words and promises. Let us choose the narrow path that leads to life. Choose wisely—choose Christ!

Conclusion: Lessons from Jezebel and the Bible

God’s sovereignty remains unshaken; He knows the beginning from the end. The warnings drawn from Jezebel’s life and scripture provide us with timeless clarity. As Ecclesiastes 1:9 reminds us, “There is nothing new under the sun.” Satan’s methods of deception have not changed, and false religions like the New Age / Golden Age Movement are modern manifestations of these ancient lies. These deceptions, cloaked in promises of enlightenment, peace, and unity, echo the spiritual rebellion seen in Jezebel’s time, the Tower of Babel, and countless other moments in history.

Even those movements that claim to acknowledge Christ often compromise truth, embracing all religions in the name of an ecumenical ‘unity and peace.’ This push toward a one-world religion is yet another ploy by Satan, setting the stage for the rise of the Antichrist, who will seek to establish his rule over a one-world government. Scripture warns us of this, and as believers, we are called to be vigilant.

Our anchor is the Word of God. We must remain grounded, discerning, and uncompromising in our faith. The false promises of movements like the New Age and the allure of unity at the expense of truth must be rejected. Instead, we fix our eyes on Christ, awaiting His glorious return when He will establish His eternal Kingdom—a Kingdom of true peace and righteousness.

Let us hold fast to God’s promises, stand firm in His truth, and keep our hearts prepared for the day when the Prince of Peace will reign forever.

7 Signs God May Be Testing You

“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.” ~ 1 Peter 4:12-19 NKJV

Often times, as born again believers we face difficult situations and wonder if there are deeper reasons for that trial. The Bible teaches that there are certain instances where God uses a circumstance to test us and our hearts. Here are seven signs that God is testing you, with each one serving to reveal, refine, and strengthen your faith.

Seven Signs God May Be Testing You

1. Unusual Delays

When God allows for unusual delays, it’s a test. We see this in the example of Abraham. The testing of Abraham was used to refine his trust and patience in God (Genesis 21:1-3).

Often, unusual delays may show that the test is from God. These sorts of tests reveal things in our hearts and refine our character, perfecting our patience. Ultimately, the lessons learned in these seasons are things that no other season in our lives would show us.

2. Facing Impossible Situations

Secondly, another tell-tale sign is when you’re facing impossible situations. We see in the Bible that God tested Moses and the Israelites by allowing them to face the Red Sea and fear the reality of Pharaoh behind them (Exodus 14:13-14).

If you’re facing an impossible situation, God is not trying to drown you or destroy you. He is testing you. Your fear and doubt may come to the surface during those times, but God desires to bring it up to remove it from within you.

3. Struggles with Provision

Next, when you struggle with provision, you might be tested by God.

It’s easy sometimes for those of us in a spiritual warfare camp to shift blame always on the devil, especially when experiencing financial issues. But sometimes, the Lord might be testing us, just as He did with Israel when they faced lack in the promised land (Deuteronomy 8:3).

God wasn’t attacking them but was revealing, refining, training, and perfecting them. He did provide for them, but He also wanted to perfect them. God is not just interested in providing for you. He’s interested in perfecting you.

4. Trials of Suffering

Another important thing to remember is that trials of suffering often mean experiencing loss and hardship. For instance, in Scripture we see that Job experienced intense suffering, loss, and hardship. During his suffering, we see that Job worshipped even in his grief (Job 1:20-21). He didn’t have answers but chose to trust.

If you’re experiencing this sort of test, it’s important to remember that the way trust in God is expressed is through worship. Life on earth is really a series of losses. Grasping that reality can help you get through trials, knowing life is temporary, and eternal life is what really matters.

5. Temptations to Compromise

Next, when you’re facing temptations to compromise, it’s a test.

Daniel was tested to see if he would conform to Babylonian customs (Daniel 6:10). In the same way, God may test your integrity and obedience to His word in situations where obeying Him might cost you. In temptation, the enemy entices you to sin, but God reveals what’s in your heart, refines your character, perfects your godliness, and trains you in righteousness.

6. Opportunity to Help Others

When you have the opportunity to help others despite being in hardship, it’s a test.

In scripture, we see that Joseph, despite his own hardships, was faithful in serving others (Genesis 39:4-5). Often, God tests our willingness to serve and bless others, even in difficult situations. Joseph, even while imprisoned, served his fellow prisoners and interpreted their dreams.

It’s a test: Will you show up and help others when you’re struggling? Remember, you’re not giving out of your lack but from what Jesus has given you.

7. Silence from God

Lastly, experiencing silence from God can be a test.

Jesus was tested in the wilderness during a period of isolation and silence, with only the voices of Satan. Sometimes, when God is “silent,” it’s because the test is in progress (Matthew 4:1-2).

When God is silent, remember everything He’s taught you prior. The silence is not abandonment but a test.
